Community Involvement
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. On September 26, 2020 Peak Toolworks joined supporters across the nation for a St. Jude Walk/Run virtual event during Childhood Cancer Awareness month raising money for research and the kids of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, where families never receive a bill.
Cancer remains the leading cause of death by disease for children under the age of 14. St. Jude is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
1. 43 children in the U.S. are diagnosed with cancer every day.
2. Worldwide, at least 300,000 children and adolescents are diagnosed with cancer each year.
3. Approximately 10% of children with cancer develop the disease from an inherited genetic mutation.
The Peak Toolworks Team helped raise money for St. Jude’s and got out to exercise. As we worked on our health, every step stood with St. Jude because they create more clinical trials for cancer than any other children’s hospital and turn laboratory discoveries into lifesaving treatments. St. Jude freely shares the discoveries it makes. Every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.
